How Canadians can help

More information for those who would like to help:
The best way you can help earthquake victims in Haiti is to make cash donations to established humanitarian agencies, instead of donating clothing, food, or other items.
Between January 12, 2010, when the earthquake struck, and February 12, 2010, Canadians donated a total of $220 million to the Haiti Earthquake Relief Fund. Canada pledged to match donations made by Canadians through this fund.

You can no longer donate to the Fund, but you can still help to meet Haiti's urgent needs.

Here is the list of Canadian non governmental organizations and partners that took part in the Haiti Earthquake Relief Fund. They still accept donations from individual Canadians.

The list, while not exhaustive, provides a snapshot of the scope and variety of the important work being carried out throughout the country and in the earthquake-affected areas.
