CIDA has proposed a framework for the renewal of its Canadian Partnership Branch (CPB), which is now called the Partnerships with Canadians Branch (PWCB).
New guidelines will be available on CIDA's website starting in Fall 2010. For more information, please email us at CPB-RENEWAL@acdi-cida.gc.ca or call us at 819-997-5006 or 1-800-230-6349 (toll-free).
As of July 22, 2010, with the renewal of the Canadian Partnership Branch/Partnerships with Canadians Branch, this initiative is being discontinued or regrouped under the Global Citizens Program. Details of new program mechanisms will be available on CIDA's website shortly. Note that no new proposals will be accepted but that current agreements will be honored until their scheduled end.
Welcome to the Global Classroom Initiative, a CIDA resource for educators wishing to encourage Canadian youth to actively explore international cooperation issues.
The CIDA-sponsored Amerindian Handicraft Association in St. Cuthbert's Mission, Guyana, enables women to earn enough money to send their children to school.
As countries around the world move into an era of global integration, citizenship can no longer be defined by national borders. For this reason, it is more and more important that we learn to see ourselves-and that we educate our children to see themselves-as responsible global citizens. By beginning today, we can help ensure young Canadians become informed about and engaged in global issues so that they understand and value Canada's international efforts.
The Global Classroom Initiative supports the development of school-based global education resources and activities. We look forward to supporting projects from the education sector that will help Canadian youth get to know their global neighbours, appreciate different world views, and understand the global impact of their choices and actions. By working together, we can help our children make responsible choices for the sake of our collective future.
