I am Making A Difference

From February 5 to 11, 2012, International Development Week (IDW) highlights the work of Canada's development community and connects this work to Canadians.

During IDW, Canadians, especially youth, are invited to take action and participate in Canada's international development efforts through a number of events taking place across the country.

IDW 2012 focuses on the empowerment of women and girls and sustainable economic growth.

Why invest in women and girls? Because gender equality is a development goal in its own right and it is smart economics.

How can I make a difference in international development?

Canadians care about international development and the well-being of others. Here are some suggestions on how you can contribute to international development:

Participate in one of the events organized in your region or organize your own event. Consult the calendar of events by date

Blog, tweet, visit CIDA's Facebook page, or update your Facebook status about the importance of international development.

Volunteer some time in an organization involved in international development. Visit your regional or provincial council for international cooperation for a list of organizations.
